It took 79 minutes, but France finally beat star Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to earn a trip to the quarterfinals. Enyeama kept the game scoreless with a number of spectacular saves, but one fatal mistake on a corner kick allowed French midfielder Paul Pogba to score the winner.

Enyeama ran off his line to punch away the corner kick, but he was only able to pop it up for Pogba, who was waiting unmarked at the back post.

France was gifted an insurance goal in the first minute of stoppage time. Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo deflected the ball into his own net while trying to block out Antoine Griezmann, sealing his country’s exit.
